I wish you the best.
That you have moved on. I understand and I am sorry.
If my feelings weren’t true..would I still be here?
Was I really what you weren’t looking for? Did I somehow lose sight of what I could have been, and not live up to your expectations? I only wish that I could have been more…but perhaps it wasn’t me. Maybe it was or maybe it was just bad timing. I always knew you just needed time to explore and see what else was out there. I never wanted to think that you were settling. Well who does right? But maybe it wasn’t that you settled. Maybe it’s just that you didn’t realize…in life there are going to be bumps here and there.
It’s the way that we made each other feel that brought the most happiness into my life. We were uniquely weird around each other. We made each other laugh, didn’t have to be anyone else but ourselves, but most importantly chemistry was always there. It’s a shame how we let the past get in the way. It was a beautiful story and you were my princess.
Today one of my fellow colleagues asked me something. He asked me what my perception of Microsoft is. I responded “well do you want my honest opinion?”. I told him that I basically think that Microsoft is a company in which…perception is an issue. He agreed, but before he agreed he gave me an even more interesting perspective.
This guy was amazing. Brilliant, smart, and carried a very odd perspective. But it is with that perspective, that you bring in passionate talent. He was a guy who worked at Apple for two years. He shifted to Microsoft even though he is an avid mac fan. I asked him why? When he answered me…something in my head just lit up with inspiration. It lit up with so many different emotions, that I was just dumbfounded. What really got me is when he said “If I sold you an Apple laptop, who sold you that lap top? Did I sell you that laptop or did Apple sell you that laptop?” It is with that, that made me really think. Apple and Google some of the biggest players out there are at their heigh of success, just when Microsoft was at it’s height. Untouchable. The stuff basically sells itself, driven by a team that was hungry. Hungry for market share and hungry to prove themselves. But here’s the thing about hype. You reach a point where the company is at it’s peak, and the talent you attract are those who will plateau. The once hungry company becomes to dull down an becomes to churn. Microsoft…well it fell off awhile ago and it happened. Now the people coming in have a point to prove.
He continued to respond “Now if you started using IE as a browser, who sold you that? The company? Or me?” The impact within each company to face off perception is immense. There is something unique about the underdog that makes you want to fight even harder. A power player cannot sit at the top forever. But your passion and vision should extend to a point where people look back, and say that was because of him. SkyDrive is a new product faced against the biggest players in the personal cloud market. Dropbox and Google. I’ll make a difference and change. I believe in the product and that is currently my passion.
Stay Hungry.
